A Story Book For Children In Vietnam About Neuroblastoma

Once upon a time, in the beautiful country of Vietnam, there was a little boy named Minh. Minh loved playing in the rice fields and chasing after dragonflies with his friends. He was always full of energy and had a big smile on his face.

But one day, Minh started feeling very tired and weak. His parents noticed that he wasn’t as playful as before and took him to see the wise old doctor in their village. The doctor examined Minh and discovered that he had a condition called Neuroblastoma.

Neuroblastoma was like a sneaky dragon hiding inside Minh’s body. It made him feel sick and weak. The doctor explained to Minh and his parents that Neuroblastoma was a special kind of illness that affected his body’s cells called neuroblasts.

Minh’s parents were worried, but the doctor assured them that they would fight this dragon together. He explained that they would need to go on a journey to the big city, where there were special doctors who knew how to defeat Neuroblastoma.

So, Minh and his parents packed their bags and hopped on a train to Ho Chi Minh City. They arrived at a big hospital called Cho Ray, where the doctors were ready to help Minh fight the dragon.

The doctors explained to Minh that they would use special medicines and treatments to make the dragon weaker and weaker. They called these treatments chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Minh was a brave little warrior and faced these treatments with a smile, even though they made him feel a bit tired and sick.

During his time at the hospital, Minh made friends with other children who were also fighting their own dragons. They played games together, shared stories, and supported each other. Minh learned that he wasn’t alone in this battle.

After many weeks of treatments, Minh’s strength started to return. The dragon inside him was getting weaker and weaker. The doctors were amazed by Minh’s bravery and determination.

Finally, the day came when the doctors declared that Minh had defeated the dragon. He was cancer-free! Minh’s parents were overjoyed and couldn’t stop hugging their brave little warrior.

Minh returned to his village, where his friends and neighbors welcomed him with open arms. They celebrated his victory with a big feast, filled with delicious Vietnamese dishes like pho and banh mi.

From that day on, Minh became a hero in his village. He shared his story with other children, teaching them about Neuroblastoma and how to fight it bravely. Minh’s journey had taught him the importance of love, support, and never giving up.

And so, every night before going to bed, Minh would look up at the stars and make a wish. He wished for all the children fighting Neuroblastoma to find the strength to defeat their dragons, just like he did.

And as Minh closed his eyes, he knew that his story would inspire many others to keep fighting, no matter how big their dragons may be. The end
